Next year again?
Yes, I think so!
But to reach that point, I have to improve my equipment:
- better material for Poncho and Tshirts
- using Trekking Sticks
- new and lighter Shoes for good roads
- Sports..:))
During my october campaign in Scottland, I will test those materials in the field.
But if you are going to test them in Scotland, you will need a driver on the Camino 🙂
This doesn’t even make any sense!
I have to test my equipment in the field..going there by car..
Ah..you never been to seismology, youngling!
:))
best material for t-shirts was, is and will be WOOL!
how fast does wool dry?
the thin quality (150 g/qm) is drying from evening to morning without any problem. if the weather is good even 200 g/qm dries overnight. but there is no need to wash it every day, because it doesn’t stink after just a few days of use. wool also keeps you quite warm when wet. I have already tried this a few times now, it’s marvelous.
best stuff is first smartwool, second icebreaker and than the rest. woolpower is the most functional one, but also the most ugly one.

have a look at ebay.
from smartwool the old „nts sport“ fabric is great. best i have ever worn. the icebreaker 150 superfine is more robust, then you would expect from such a light fabric. and the patagonia wool2 is less robust then you would hope for by price you pay for this fabric.
is it wearable as 1st layer?
that is the idea of this super fine and fine merino stuff. and it works great for this purpose, really cosy. especially the smartwool and icebreaker stuff, the woolpower could be a little bit itchy for picky people.
icebreaker seems to have some problems with endurance..
holes because of backpack, etc..
